Science Museum Oklahoma (formerly called Omniplex Science Museum) is located in NE OKC, in OKC's Adventure District. The zoo is next door to the east. Down the street (east) is The Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame/Museum, Firefighter's Museum, Fallen and Living Firefighter's Memorial, Lincoln Park, the Lincoln Golf Course. Just south of the museum is the 45th Infantry Division Museum and the Oklahoma Veterans Cemetery.
Science Museum Oklahoma is a phenomenal place to bring the kids. There is lots to see including tons of interactive science-related exhibits, dome theater, planetarium, auditorium, International Gymnastics Hall of Fame, and many other exhibits. There are sleepovers for the public and scouts here, and the museum offers lots of interesting classes and camps for the kids. Some of the popular exhibits are the Tinkering Garage, Gadgettrees 3-story climbing structure/slide, and the mirror maze. My kids favorite exhibit (I can't think of the name) is when you go into this dark room and every 45 seconds or so a big flash is set off, leaving a silhouette of your form onto the wall. The kids love posing in all different ways and seeing the "photo" on the wall. The exhibits change occasionally, so be expected to see new and different things on your visit.
Admission costs:
Museum exhibits and dome theater: $14.95 for adults (13-64); $11.95 for Seniors (65+) and children ages 4-12.
Museum exhibits only: $10.95 for adults (13-64); $8.95 Seniors (65+) and children ages 4-12.
Dome theater only: $8.45 for adults (13-64); $6.95 Seniors (65+) and children ages 4-12.
Children under 3 are admitted free of charge but must sit on a parent's lap in Dome Theater and Planetarium shows. Museum exhibits includes free admission to the Planetarium Show, based on seating availability.
Science Museum Oklahoma is closed on Christmas Eve and Day.
