Found in the Motion Gallery in the Cranbrook Institute of Science natural history museum, the Kinetic Machine features three balls that roll through more than 180 feet of track, two funnels, and three belt elevators. They also pass over numerous pendulums and down a "scoop ladder". Signs on the facing wall explain how the sculpture demonstrates potential and kinetic energy, momentum, inertia, and other science concepts.
The coordinates are for the entrance to the museum. The Motion Gallery is on the main floor. From the lobby, head up the ramp across from the desk, turn right after the planetarium, and then go past the cafeteria.
