Dead Lakes County Park, until recently a state park, is a great place to cast a line or just take in the swamp views.

Dead Lakes was formed when sandbars created by the current of the Apalachicola River blocked the Chipola River. The occurring natural lake killed thousands of trees in the floodplain, giving the lakes its name.
A boat ramp is availiable, but be advised that due to the shallowness of the lake, jon boats and smaller shallow-draft boats such as Carolina Skiffs should be used. There is also a small fishing pond in the park, where I've personally caught me a mess of bass.
Tight lines and good luck!
Recommended fishing methods: For the lake:
-Carolina Rigging for bass in the stumps.
-Spinnerbait/Buzzbaiting for bass in the shallows and stumps.
-The classic Worm n' Bobber for blugill and catfish.
-Chicken livers on the bottom for catfish/bowfin.
