The Fiske house was built in the Second Empire style from 1875-76. The
dwelling features a slate ma nsard roof and a two-story octagonal tower crowned by an octagonal cupola. The building is brick and trimmed in stone.
The original owner of the house, John P. Fiske, was a prosperous Detroit merchant of china and crockery ware
