Mt leura and the adjacent Mt Sugarloaf scaoria cones are nested inside a large Maar volcano crater that is almost completely covered by the scoria cones inside it.
Nearby lakes Bullen Merri & Gnotuk (visible from the summit)also maar volcanic craters.
A road winds it way a car park near the summit from which it's a very short walk to the summit.
There are information boards about the history of the area & it's volcanos nearby also.
