DESCRIBED BY NORTH CAROLINA GEODETIC SURVEY 1978 (ACD) THE STATION IS LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 0.8 MILE SOUTHEAST OF LAUREL HILL AND 4.6 MILES WEST-NORTHWEST OF LAURINBURG. TO REACH STATION FROM INTERSECTION OF US 74 WITH SR 1148 AND SR 1001 IN LAUREL HILL, PROCEED SOUTHEAST ALONG US 74 TO INTERSECTION WITH SR 1125 AND SR 1350 SPRINGFIELD TO RICHMOND MILL ROADS AND STATION IN SOUTHEAST QUADRANT ON TOP OF BANK AND APPROXIMATELY 142 FEET NORTH-NORTHEAST OF WHITE GRANITE GIBSON TOMBSTONE. STATION MARK IS A STANDARD DISK STAMPED---RICH MILL 1978---SET IN TOP OF A 9 INCH CONCRETE MONUMENT, WHICH IS FLUSH WITH THE GROUND SURFACE. THE MARK IS 67.2 FEET WEST-SOUTHWEST OF CENTERLINE OF EAST BOUND LANES, 99.2 FEET SOUTHEAST OF CENTER OF CONCRETE TRAFFIC ISLAND IN SR 1125, 20.7 FEET EAST-SOUTHEAST OF RIGHT-OF-WAY MONUMENT, 32.3 FEET NORTH-NORTHWEST OF TELEPHONE POLE WITH REFERENCE TAG AND 13.1 FEET NORTHEAST OF A 6 INCH PINE WITH REFERENCE TAG.
