The Roundhouse is well worth a visit. Located in a former railroad roundhouse, the complex houses a restaurant, several clubs, meeting facilities, the Walter Payton Museum and a brewpub. It is worth a visit just to see the building and museum. The restaurant has an interesting decor with a big tapestry of dancing bears and a huge chandelier made of antlers.
The food is quite good, but a bit pricy. I love the surf and turf, which of course makes for an expensive meal. It comes with a wonderful port wine sauce that I just can't resist.
The regular beer menu is generally standard fare. I tend to like the amber ale. They also had an acceptable wheat. As specialties, the pub brews different beers aged in oak barrels. The first time I was there, they had two chocolate beers. One was light in color with a beer, yet also chocolate taste. Not my cup of tea, but interesting, especially since chocolate beers are often done with stout or porter instead of a light beer. Then there was the fascinating aged chocolate special. Again, it was light, but tasted like pure chocolate. It also was not my cup of tea (or beer lol), but was amazing in how it was done. The next time, they had an IPA with 11.5% alcohol. I didn't try that one, but it sounded interesting.
For a unique brepub experience, the Roundhouse is definitely a place to visit!
