In Williamsburg, in the museum and resort known as Colonial Williamsburg, there is a prominent building known as the Governor's Palace. On the north side of this building is the palace gardens, which include well shaped and manicured bushes, many of which have been made into distinctive geometric shapes.

The north side has a gate where guests from out of time would enter and walk through the garden before entering the palace.

On either side are conical bushes which has distinct divisions placed between larger trees and potted plants on pedestals. Behind these bushes are rectangular hedges of bushes enclosing a grassy area. These areas may also be flower beds, but the time of the visit was late autumn, so there was nothing visible.

Closer to the palace, there are large cylindrical bushes that tower over the guest. Behind these are diamond-shaped hedges of bushes and other hedges with patterns.

To one side is an intricate maze made from bushes. These appear to be in good shape, except for some holes possibly from people who were impatient in solving the maze.

The topiary in the main garden is visible from the north gate of the palace. There is a parking lot not far away to the east. Walking there may be a path from the parking lot directly to the gate (After the tour of the palace, my group left the palace and entered the garden). You will need a ticket to Colonial Williamsburg to see or enter the gardens, which is $37 for adults and $18 for kids ages 6-17. The Governor's Palace is open 7 days a week, generally 9-4.
