The memorial has four stone pillars with the different branches of service listed, central stone monument and a bronze cenotaph with a list of county residents who lost their lives in World War II. The monument is inscribed:

The memorial is on the west side of the courthouse. On the well kept grounds of the courthouse there are several veterans memorials along with a statue of Abraham Lincoln and a marker commemorating Chief Pontiac.
