If the red lights are flashing on the railroad crossing sign outside the ETSU Campus Center Building, then the Mountain Empire Model Railroaders are at work in Room 113 on their working layouts (HO, N, and G scales) in this musuem. Opened in November 2007. The latest addition is a 21-stall model railroad roundhouse, turntable and supporting structures.
There is also a side room set up as a day care for little railroaders.
