Noted this marker while photographing a bell for a waymark. Began reading this plaque and discovered not only how old this church was but that an old friend's father pastored the church during the 1970 renovation. I knew he was an ordained minister but did not realize he was pastor at Reedy Creek. I have known of this church for some years and did not know this history of the church. Some of the names of the Deacons from both list are known to my family. I heard these names in conversations while growing up. This church was originally named Reedy Creek Baptist Church and later adopted the current name of Reedy Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
