The 'southern bus station' (known as 'Sai Tai' / 'Sai Tai Taling Chan') is one of the three major bus stations in Bangkok. As its name implies, it links Bangkok (the transport hub of the country) with the southern (and western) regions of Thailand.
This is a big and busy bus station 24/7. A full range of services, with lots of people. The station has three levels (just a little difficult to get around when carrying a full load of gear), which include the usual range of facilities, plus what is essentially a shopping centre. A mix of public and private buses use the facility. The terminal lies 'across the river', in Thonburi area of Bangkok.
This station came online in December 2007, replacing the former southern bus station, which was closer to the centre of Bangkok.
