The Sangudo Cenotaph was constructed in 1967 in memory of The Canadian Armed Forces who lost their lives in defense of their Country.

The Cenotaph was constructed of cement and stuccoed with a metal cross located on the top of the Cenotaph. In September, 1990, the Cenotaph was refaced using quartizite and tinole stone. The corners, base, and cross were reinforced with cement.

The 90MM anti-aircraft gun was obtained in 1967 from the west coast. The gun was mounted on a cement base.

Wreaths are layed by the Cenotaph each November 11th.

The inscription on the Cenotaph reads:

Royal Canadian Legion Sangudo Branch No. 123 In Memory of the Men and Women of the Canadian Armed Forces who gave their lives in defense of their Country At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them
