Memorial is concrete, painted white, approximately 9 ft. high.

The sculpture originally had a brass plaque which listed names of Lincoln County citizens killed or lost in the two World Wars. After the plaque was stolen, it was replaced with the current plaque which honors veterans of all wars. This plaque was placed by the Lion's Club and the American Legion Post 57 about 1990.

 Description of Memorial: Nine foot tall white obelisk in a small park in the heart of Capitan. Walking to a near by business after visiting Smokey Bear State Park, the white obelisk caught our attention.
