The Hellgate Viewpoint provides a good view downstream from the canyon and a limited view upstream. The viewpoint overlooks the turnaround point for the Hellgate jet boat river tours.
The 84.5 mile Wild and Scenic segment of the Rogue River extends from the mouth of the Applegate River downstream to the Lobster Creek Bridge. The river winds through farmlands and orchards before entering a wilderness of forested mountains on it way to the Pacific Ocean.
