created by Pittsbugh-based mosaic artist Daviea Davis, and installed on April 24, 2007.
The two panels represent "old" and "new" Pittsburgh. The "old" has iron furnaces and steel mills, with fire blowing out of smokestacks. The "new" has the city modern skyline with its bridges and rivers, people paddling on boats, stadiums filled with sports fans.
Sponsors are the Pittsburgh Glass Center and Bombardier Transportation.
The glass used in the mosaics is recycled glass donated by Youghiogheny Glass located in Connellsville, PA.
Size of each of the two panels is 4 feet by 13 feet.
