In Cambridge, at Harvard Square, is Old Harvard Yard, the main portion of the Harvard University Campus.
The text for the American Guide Series book for Massachusetts has Harvard Yard as the main entry, and several entries that are listed under Harvard Yard. These sub entries will be briefly entered here.
The text states:
18. The Harvard Yard, which is the university campus, is the original center of the College, and still keeps much of its Old World charm. Not unlike Lincoln's Inn Fields and Gray's Inn in London, and roughly contemporary with them, it shares much of their characteristic blending of Georgian stateliness and mellowed red brick. On the whole, the modern additions to the Yard have been tactfully adapted to their surroundings, with but a few exceptions, to be noted later. It may well be described as one of the the most beautiful college campuses in America.

Today, the campus remains as it appeared then. Buildings have been added to the Harvard University campus, for instance, by Memorial Hall to the north of Harvard Yard, but the Yard portion remains the same.
