Kenneth MacKenzie MacIntosh (March 9, 1910 – December 6, 1980)
Eulogized by his colleagues on City Council as “Mr. Denver,” the honorable Kenneth MacKenzie MacIntosh dedicated himself to the loyal services of his city, state and country for over four decades.
He served as Denver City Councilman for 22 years: 1959-1980
Administrative Assistant to Mayor Benjamin Stapleton, Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado, United States Enforcement Attorney, Practicing Attorney and Legal Counsel,
Lieutenant Commander United States Navy Retired,
Distinguished Athlete at University of Denver,
Graduate of the University of Denver College of Law.
Denver’s greatness has evolved due to the leadership of people like Kenneth M. MacIntosh. He was an important force in the planned growth and development of the many facilities that are enjoyed by countless citizens. He exemplified the highest principles of integrity, compassion, fairness and devotion to civic duty. In memory of his life and outstanding contributions, the City of Denver has given the MacIntosh Plaza to the people for their enjoyment.
