A three hour energetic hike which takes you to a geodesic mark on the highest point of Penha de Aguia where you can enjoy scenic views.

This exhilarating hike takes you through a variety of different patches of trees including eucalyptus, pines and acacias.The distance is about four kilometres but the path is steep and winding. Each season brings a change in the vegetation and we found the walk to be very beautiful, with the natural beauty of the fertile area.
The views of the valleys below are quite spectacular and the area by the geodesic mark makes an ideal lunch stop where you can relax and absorb the scenes.
The weather can change quickly in Madeira so you are encouraged to be prepared.
The starting point for the walk is N32.47.301 W016.50.840 take the steps on the right hand side of the restaurant.
