Quick Description: There's a saying, "That's a tough nut to crack", well just try cracking this monster of a pistachio.

Placed near the highway where it draws attention to a pistachio store, this nut can't be missed. Built in 2008 with a painted stucco outer shell over a steel framework, it is about as lifelike as it gets.
It's a place to buy all things pistachio, but the giant nut is more than just a roadside attraction. In front of it is a bronze plaque that sums up why it is here.
The plaque reads:The World's Largest Pistachio
This monument is dedicated to the lasting memory of Thomas Michael McGinn (1929-2007), the founder of the Pistachio Tree Ranch. This little slice of New Mexico desert was Tom's canvass to create his legacy. His tireless dedication to his dream made his farm the success it is today. Tom dreamed big, expected big and accomplished big things. He would have said this monument is not big enough! His legacy lives on.
Idea concieved by Tomothy McGinn, son, 2008
