This weathervane is perched atop the aptly named Bell Building on Duke's East Campus. This is a brand new dorm building that opened in 2005.
The school elected to go with an old-style version of the Blue Devil mascot for this weathervane, not the current stylized "happy" Blue Devil. The weathervane shares a tower with the original 6500 pound Trinity College Bell which has been at East Campus since 1911.
