The Confederate Monument has a south-facing Confederate soldier standing on top of a pedestal. The monument is inscribed 1861-1865 Our Confederate Heroes. It is also inscribed with the surnames of 387 Greene County soldiers who lost their lives in the war. The monument was unveiled on April 24, 1908 by the Ladies Memorial Association of Greene County, a group which later organized as the Green county chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
