Long Description:
A sleek gazelle is presented in a characteristic movement known
as wheeling. The sculpture was adapted from the central
figure of the Levi L. Barbour Memorial Fountain on Belle Isle in
the Detroit River. Placed around the fountain basin are a
hawk, rabbit, grouse and otter representing animals native to the
region. In 1936, this design won first place in a national
competition. In 1972 it won the purchase prize in a
competition sponsored by Brookgreen Gardens. ~~from plaque

Visit Instructions:Only one log per location per person (meaning multiple visits ->
multiple logged visits -> OK!). You should log your own
waymarked fountains as well. After all, you did in fact visit the
area to which you marked to way.
Even if an individual waymark owner has a requirement indicating
a photo is required, it is not. If there is any dispute, contact
the category management group for clarification.
