Located in the Astronaut Memorial Garden it is a tribute to the Apollo I crew, Command Pilot Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom, Senior Pilot Ed White and Pilot Roger B. Chaffee. A simple obelisk with a bronze plaque with the names of the crew members of the mission, it is a sober reminder that the successes we had in space are shown in the exhibits at the New Mexico Space Museum and Space Hall of Fame, came with a heavy human cost.
