Long Description:
Construction of the bridge started in 1959 and finished in the spring of 1966. The total span of the bridge is 5,780 feet, It's over 100 wide, and accommodates six lanes of traffic. It was named after Charles M. Braga, a Fall River native who died in the attack on Pearl Harbor.
