The Maple Island Conservation Area near the lock and dam is a good place to snag Spoonbill or fish for catfish. There is a non-paved boat ramp at this site.

Note: Missouri and Illinois fishing licenses are valid on the Maple Island Conservation area. Check the current fishing regulations.


Recommended tackle: heavey surfcasting rods and reels, heavey weights and large treble hooks
