A Zarbula sundial in Puy St André Briançon,

Zarbula painted this sundial in 1886 on Maison "La Kimpina", the yellow house below the church in the perched village of Puy St André high above Briançon and the Durrance Valley. In 1995, the house was repainted bright yellow and the sundial restored by Evelynne and Norbert Peyrot in a different fairly stark style compared to the typical Zarbula sundial. The frame, sun and equatorial line are Zarbula features. The date and Zarbula attribution are from "Cadrans Solaires du Briaçonnais" by Homet & Rozet.
The motto is the same as Pierre Feu, "Vulnerant Omnes Ultima Necat", a depressing motto (All hours wound, the last kills). This is a morning dial south facing, declining east.
Sundial Type: Vertical - Wall mounted dial plate
