St. Andrew's Church, also known as St. Andrew's Episcopal Church was organized as a mission in 1834 to serve the settlers who mostly came from the Atlantic Seaboard. The St. Andrews became a parish in the Diocese of Alabama in 1844. The current church was constructed in 1853. The board-and-batten Carpenter Gothic Revival-style church exhibits the influence of 19th-century architectural leader Richard Upjohn who wrote the book Rural Architecture. The church featuring wooden buttresses and large door hung on strap iron hinges is virtually unaltered with original pews, organ and stained glass.

St. Andrew's was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 7, 1973, and was declared a National Historic Landmark on the same day. It is located 8 miles (13 km) east of Demopolis on U.S. Route 80 - from Wikipedia and National Historic Landmark summary
