Marker Text: ENIAC, the Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer, was invented by J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly. It was built here at the University of Pennsylvania in 1946. The invention of this first all-purpose digital computer signaled the birth of the Information Age.

Oh yes, I do remember the days of computers with tubes! I worked with an IBM 650. When the electric failed the programers and operators would run to remove the trays of tubes before they popped from over heating! It is now in the Smithsonian. And believe it or not I actual saw it in a display!
