Sipapu, one of three natural bridges in Natural Bridges is the longest and most massive of the three. Its name, given to it in 1908, means "opening between worlds" in Hopi. Prior names were "Augusta", and "President".
While it can be viewed from an overlook just off the Park road, by parially descending the trail you can get a much better view. The descent all the way to its base is quite difficult, but the view can be worth it for those who venture that far.
The stream that carved it still flows underneath it, slowly eroding its sandstone. However, it is so massive, it is going to be there for many future generations to marvel at it. An interesting fact is that Sipapu is the longest natural arch of any type in the world to have an active trail beneath it allowing visitors to actually pass under the bridge.
Its vital statistics are:
Height: 220 feet
Span: 268 feet
Width: 31 feet
Thickness: 53 feet
