The town of Hershey, PA is a model community. The area glows with a reserved character of self-confidence, born from the vision of the founder, Milton Hershey. All the richness of the region is concentrated in the downtown area, where the Hershey Chocolate World attraction is found.
Milton Hershey did not invent chocolate, but he made it accessible to many rather than few. The tour through the chocolate-making process is representative of this; what could be a dull mechanical process is presented with a bubbly goofiness that offers fun on top of education! The history, production and present-day role of chocolate are also presented here through interactive displays and a 3-D theater presentation. And, of course, there's a gift shop - but unlike any other:
