Lizzy Harper's headstone says she was born in 1824 and she died in 1940, making her either 115 or 116 years old at the time of death. I was not able to find anything about this supercentenarian.

1824 - Presidential election with 4 candidates resulted in none of getting the majority of the electoral vote. John Quincy Adams was elected President by the House of Representatives in 1825.

She witnessed the growth of plantations in Alabama

She lived through the Civil War

She lived through World War I

She lived through the Great Depression

She saw start of World War II

1940 - Franklin D. Roosevelt elected to third term as President of United States.
Location of Headstone: Airmount Cemetery
