The Goreggenheim, or officially, the Eastern Southland Gallery is an absolute treasure of an art museum. Housed in the 1909 Carnegie Library building, walking through this collection one can not helped to be amazed by the quality of the artwork.
The different galleries feature the works of Rita Angus, Theo Schoon, Lowell Nesbitt, and Ralph Hotere. In addition, there is an extensive collection of Bambarra, Dogon and Baga carvings from West Africa.
