Known as Rising Main Avenue, these steps connect the bottom hollow where Howard Street is with the top of the hill where the Fineview neighborhood is located, at Warren St.

With a count of 337 steps, they are the longest continuous set of steps in the city of Pittsburgh.

Recently, in the fall 2009, a running race that was 4.5 miles long, called Fineview Step Challenge, used the steps as part of the itinerary that runners had to follow.
