The Navigation Inn stands on the roadside and canal side near the villages of Cosgrove and Castlethorpe. It is near the border of Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire.
Thrupp Wharf (
visit link) lies right next to the pub providing mooring facilities for longer stays but also there is mooring available alongside the pub for users of the pub.
The bridge over the canal next to the pub offers a good view of the docking area as well as providing road access over the canal.
Constructed in the 19th century the Grand Union Canal was built by the navvies and the pub is named after them. It is at this point that the River Tove runs very close to the canal.
The pub offers some of the best food in the area and was voted in the top 10 of waterside pubs by the Sunday Telegraph. They are famous for their beer and Sunday roasts, traditional British food and fresh, seasonal options. Friday nights are live music times and there is a fine dining restaurant opening in 2010 as a separate part of the pub. Their website is available here: (
