Around the backside of Rockwell Hall on the campus of Buffalo State College sits two lion statues. These lions once graced the main entrance of the now demolished Erie County Savings Bank downtown. That building was demolished in 1968 to make way for a new office tower. Each of the lions are holding a coat-of-arms type shield with their front paws. On the left lion, the shield reads "Building erected 1893" and the right lion's shield reads "Bank incorporated April 10th 1854".
