The Peace River SPCA was established in 1985 as a home for animals that don't have one ever since.
Their mission, like many others is to:
"...provide shelter and temporary refuge to those animals who are homeless or are in need of respite from cruelty and neglect;
- Finding forever families for adoptable animals
- Reuniting lost pets and their owners
- Controlling overpopulation of small animals through spaying/neutering and education
- Educating the public regarding responsible pet ownership and respect for animal life
- Securing basic medical services for animals in need
- Cooperate with the Town of Peace River in addressing the problem of unwanted and neglected small animals"
