Located within the crater of the Tower Hill Volcano, this Boardwalk gets it's name from the only lava flow to occur in this nested maar.
On my previous visit to the boardwalk an echidna was going about collecting his lunch below us, completely unaware that we were there. These shy creatures usually stop and 'ball' up if they think anyone is near. The whole park is delight and well worth a visit, especially if you have kids, even an internal one.
Approximate boardwalk length (feet): 1000
What is the boardwalk over?: Wetlands and a lava tongue
Boardwalk material: Timber
