"A Civil War soldier stands with his proper right hand raised in front of him where he once held a rifle. His proper right leg is braced from behind by a stump. He is dressed in a uniform and a wide-brimmed hat. The sculpture is mounted atop a shaft with a tiered lower section set upon a stepped bottom. Crossed flags in low relief appear on the rear of the base. Cannonballs rest at the top of each corner of the bottom tier."http://siris-artinventories.si.edu/ipac20/ipac.jsp?session=12D7E4213Q606.15062&profile=ariall&uri=link=3100009~!1511560~!3100001~!3100002&aspect=Browse&menu=search&ri=1&source=~!siartinventories&term=Franklin+County+Confederate+Monument%2C&index=ALTIT#focus

The area around this sculpture is typical small town Georgia, friendly, quiet, polite. A great place to relax and enjoy the scenery.
