Starting as a two-story boarding house in Pueblo that was converted
into St. Mary’s Hospital by the Sisters of Charity in 1882. The
hospital’s excellent reputation led the Colorado Fuel & Iron
Company (CF&I)to transfer ownership of its own Corwin Hospital
to the sisters in the late 1940s. St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center
was formed shortly thereafter.
