The original monument was dedicated on Memorial Day, May 30, 1922. The World War I plaques listing those from the county who lost their lives in World War I were added and dedicated Armistice Day, November 11, 1940. The plaques for the other wars were added and dedicated Veterans Day, November 11, 2006.
