— CENTENARY LOOKOUT —

This lookout faces the site of the wharf near Observation Point, from which the Albion Lines sailing ship "Dunedin" departed on the 15th February 1882 with the first cargo of frozen meat to leave New Zealand.

His Excellency the Governor General the Honourable Sir David Beattie, G.C.M.G., G.C.V.O., Q.C. on 15th February 1982.
