These are two segments of the Berlin Wall which separated East and West Germany until the country was unified in 1990. The artist added to and enhanced the graffiti drawn over the years by unknown artists. Commemorative plaque reads: Berlin Wall with Graffiti/Symbols of freedom measuring twelve feet high and four feet wide, these two massive segments of the Berlin wall weigh a total of 11,905 pounds.//A German artist, Jurden Grope, has added his person (sic) touch to the concrete structures by painting the words "wir" meaning "we" and "langst" meaning "a long length of time." He signed and dated them: Berlin, 1990.
