Inscription: (Incised on front below figure:) JOHN FITZGERALD KENNEDY/1917 1963

Description: Full-length figure of President John F. Kennedy wearing a suit and tie. He holds papers in his proper right hand and his proper left hand is in his pocket. The figure is a deep relief which stands before a rectangular form that narrows at the top. On either side of this form are L-shaped forms. A low angled wall with seven plaques stands in front of the figure.

Remarks: Commissioned by the John F. Kennedy Memorial Committee for $18,000, raised by public subscription. IAS files include text of plaques containing quotes from President Kennedy and the committee members and donors. IAS files also include a related article by syndicated columnist Hampton Dunn.
