The Northern Daily News - based in Kirkland Lake - is the Timiskaming District's only daily newspaper, serving an area which reaches as far south as Temagami, as far north as Black River-Matheson, as far east as the Quebec border and as far west as Matachewan. The Northern Daily News was established in 1922. Mon May 31, 2004 was the last daily issue of the Northern Daily News.
