In the South Boston neighborhood of the city of Boston, in the port section that used to be the Charlestown Navy Yard Annex, there exists a port for ocean going cruise ships. The port is called the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal.
The terminal is run by Massport, which runs all facilities along the harbor, including Logan International Airport. The address is One Black Falcon Avenue, Boston, MA, 02210. The port is off Summer Street, which originates in downtown Boston. There is a parking garage nearby. The Silverline Bus Route SL-2 goes to the port (the stop is the Design Center).
The port is open from April to November. Over 100 vessel calls occur over the year. Routes include trips to Europe, Canada, and Bermuda. Over 15 lines stop there.
The waymark is located on the Summer Street Bridge, which is the best vantage point to see the cruise port. At the time of the visit, there were three ships docked. The one confirmed was the Jewel of the Seas, which was part of the Royal Caribbean. One of the other ships might have been the Explorer of the Seas, also a ship of Royal Caribbean, as listed on the schedule posted on the Massport site.
