Long Description:
The Rialto Cinema started life as the Empire Deluxe Theatre before
undergoing a Moorish-style upgrade and being renamed the St. James
Theatre. This was followed by an art deco frontage, but the Moorish
features disappeared during the 1950s. The theatre closed in 1990
to followed by a reappearance as a dinner and show club. Finally
1998 it was taken over by the Rialto chain and reopened as a six
screen theatre.
