Long Description:
This marker is to commemorate the location of an encampment at Island Grove Township between Springfield and Jacksonville, Illinois.

This marker is located along side Old Jacksonville Road. Ther is no parking at all. The marker is actually just OUTSIDE of a private drive entrance. I had to pull off the road and not block the private entrance at thesame time. It was a tricky move.
