Long Description:
The Cleveland County Courthouse is a three-story, limestone building. Built and designed in the Art Deco style, the building retains a lot of its historic design while being surrounded with modern features. Several historic markers and memorials have been built on the grounds of the courthouse. Fencing and a modern cement jail have been added. While largely a plain building, there are engraved bands around the top of the building, making this limestone building come to life with that extraordinary touch that we do not see in modern buildings today.

Public Works Administration supervised and funded this project, as verified by both the corner stone and the National Register of Historic Places nomination form.

Project type: Government building (non-park)

Date built or created: 1940

Location: Cleveland County Courthouse

City: Norman, Oklahoma

Condition: Good upkeep with a little wear and tear
