A nine-foot polished granite obelisk is the focal point of this Memorial to all US aircraft carriers. The names of all 164 aircraft carriers are engraved on the obelisk. On either side of the obelisk are two statues of a sailor and an aviator by artists T.J. Dixon and James Nelson.
Just steps away, one can visit the USS Midway, an aircraft carrier which is now a maritime museum. Other naval memorials are also nearby.
The Aircraft Carrier Memorial Association sponsored the site.
